Contemporary puppet theater and use of theater means that it requires different knowledge and skills to describe and analyze performances than dramatic theater.
As it turned out, few critics know how to describe the world of puppet theater. Therefore, workshops will be organized on the puppet theater. It will be held from June 20-25 with the support of the International Festival of Puppet Schools of the Theater Academy. Alexander Zelorovich, Białystok branch.
Three sets of workshops will be organized: English, French and Polish. Those interested in participating in the workshops should register as soon as possible to become one of the five participants in each group. Entrants must be critics between the ages of 18 and 35. Candidates are requested to submit a registration email with a short CV (one page only) and 2 or 3 samples of articles already published in the media or on the Internet.
Workshop participants will receive meals in the form of breakfast and dinner, as well as free entry to all performances and discussions that will take place during the festival.

Lucina Kosic – Former Administrative and Artistic Director of the Banja Luka Puppet Theater and Director of the Bielsko-Piazza International Festival of Puppet Art (since 2003), theater critic, editor-in-chief of the Puppet Theater magazine. Graduate of Polish Studies at Jagiellonian University in Krakow and Postgraduate in Journalism at Jagiellonian University. Currently, 2nd Vice President of the POLUNIMA Puppet Center, former (in 1989-1995) and Board Member of OP ASSITEJ – International Association of Children and Youth Theatre.
Author of plays and stage adaptations in Banja Luka, including “Tales of the Boy and the Wind” and “Tales of Zbojnica”. He has many books in the field of theater, including recent books. Studies of the Banja Luka Puppet Theater (“Banjaloka Puppet Theater 1947-97” and “Banyaluka Puppet Theater 1997-2007”), “100 Shows of Polish Puppet Theater” (Associate Editor of the International Banja Luka Art Festival movers) and publications from the series Puppet movers ( About the artists of the puppet theater: Jerzy Tsitsman, Alexander A. Sabinek, Jan Dorman, Włodzimierz Dobromilski, Krzysztof Rale). He published his texts on theater, among others, on the pages of Animation, Puppet Theatre, Skidsky’s Cultural Guide, theatre, children’s art, theater, theater and the interpretation of relationships.
Professor Octavian Sayo Scientist and professional theater critic. He holds a PhD in Theater Studies from the National University of Theater and Film (NUTF) in Romania for his work in the field of theater and another PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Otago, New Zealand, for a thesis on Samuel Beckett and Eugene. UNESCO. He holds a postdoctoral degree in contemporary literature from the University of Otago and a postdoctoral degree in theater and performing arts. He teaches at the NUTF Postgraduate Programme, the Doctoral Faculty of Sibiu University and at the “Centre of Excellence in Visual Studies” at the University of Bucharest. He was a Visiting Fellow at the School of Advanced Study, University of London, and also taught master’s courses as a visiting professor at various universities in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East, as well as at the Grotowski Institute.
He is active as Conference Chair and speaker at many major theater and academic events worldwide, including Olympic Theatre, Wuzhen Theater Festival, and Edinburgh International Film Festival, where he chaired the Samuel Beckett Conference in 2013. Since 2004 he is President. From the Sibiu International Theater Festival Conference and Shakespeare Studies Conference organized by the Craiova International Shakespeare Festival in collaboration with the International Association of Theater Critics (IATC). He served as Deputy Secretary-General of the International Air Transport Committee. He is Head of the Romanian Department of IATC (Theatrical Studies). Publishing scientific articles in many international journals. He has also published eleven books on theatre.
Alina Ibungik – Ph.D. in theater and performing arts, theater critic, university lecturer and researcher. He is a member of the International Association of Theater Critics, Romanian Section. She is the author of “Theater Manipulation”. Kryzys – Creation of Catharsis’ Released by Universitary Print in 2020. In 2012-2015 he worked as Artistic Assistant at Financial Theater in Bucharest, and in 2015-2016 he was Creative Director of Artistic Theater Group. As a theater critic, she has written for the internet magazine yorick.ro (2012-2019), Amphitheater (2019-2021), collaborated with “Clipa – Revista Culturală”, “BeWhere!” and sometimes”.
She co-authored the anniversary album “Mały Theatre. 50 years”; started the e-pîn-geac cultural blog project. In 2016, she was nominated for the National Theater Prize for Theatrical Criticism. Since 2021 he has been a lecturer at the Department of Theatrical Knowledge at the National University of Theater and Film in Bucharest.
