Concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and shows at Mogosoaia ClasicFest, May 28 and 29

Concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and performances will take place at the 11th edition of the Mogoşoaia ClasicFest, which will be held on May 28 and 29 at the Brâncovenesc Palace in Mogoşoaia, under the theme ‘Cultures of the World’. The organizers sent to AGERPRES.

Eight countries can be discovered at this festival through music, literature, fine art, dance, images and traditions – Armenia, Spain, Hungary, Lithuania, Peru, Mexico, China and Romania.

During the two days, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in concerts, exhibitions of fine art, photography, traditional objects, film screenings, dance performances, children’s craft workshops, conferences, and book presentations.

The first day of the event will start at 10.00, with a series of events proposed by the Federation of Armenians in Romania: Presentation of documentaries about Armenia and the film “When Death (The Story of Harutiun Fringhian)” – directed by Armine Vosganian, Presentation of “Armenian Interventions” – starring Mihaela Vosganian, and the art exhibition Ervant Nikogosyan, with the participation of Gilda Mologiano, the show “Echoes from Ararat” performed by Cosmin Raphael Polian – Duduk and Tv Schvi, Anna Maria Stonoya – soprano and Christina Strozza – piano, as well as “Coffee Story” with Jorge Florescu.

Today, the awards ceremony and the opening of the exhibition of the winners of the third edition of the Martha PepsiCo International Fine Arts Competition will continue at 13:00.

Lithuania, through its embassy in Bucharest, will present the exhibition “Invisible Lithuania”. Twenty-first century’ by Marius Jovisa, as well as books by Lithuanian authors translated into Romanian, from 13.40, and from 14.00, the events offered by Hungary will begin, through the Hungarian Cultural Institute “Franz Liszt” from Bucharest: the exhibition entitled ” Liszt Ferenc Tour in Girls, Transylvania, Montenegro, and Moldova, in 1846-1847′; a piano concert featuring Liszt performances on that tour, as well as several films about Hungarian artists and films introducing the neighboring country.

The first day will end with the events proposed by Romania – the conference “Viorel Mărginean – Personality of European Fine Arts”, with the presence of the Academy Mircea Dumitrescu, painter Georges Deccan – Vice President of UAP and painter Alexandru Morgin. On this occasion, the new album that includes the late painter’s creations will be presented and some of his works will be displayed. The art event will be followed by a Romanian musical performance by Musica Viva.

On May 29, from 10:00, cultural events proposed by the Embassy of Peru will be held: presentation of the photographic exhibition “Qhapaq Nan” – still road system, presentation of documentaries about Peru and a concert by the Peruvian artist Ito Meza, who will play traditional Andean music.

The events of the Confucius Institute at Bucharest University will begin at 11:30 am with a traditional Chinese costume parade, an exhibition of traditional Chinese tools and Chinese art, documentaries about China, a traditional dance performance, coordinated by Professor Li Zhengtaozi, and a concert by singer Fang Shuang. It will also organize Chinese calligraphy performances and a workshop to paint opera-style operas.

From 1 pm, there will be events presented by the Mexican Embassy: presentation of the exhibition of Mexican art pieces, presentation of Mexican books translated into Romanian, as well as some documentaries about Mexico, and from 2 pm, Spain presents cultural performances Proposals by the Instituto Cervantes: exhibition “Portraits of Spanish and Latin American Writers” by Mario Mochnik, a book presentation by Spanish authors translated into Romanian and a concert with Spanish music by Duo Kitharsis, the award-winning guitar group, composed by Alexandra Petresor and Dragush Hurghedan.

Handicraft workshops, coordinated by Olesa Savvateeva, will take place during the two days of the festival. Places in these workshops are limited for children and teens. A maximum of 10 participants will be accepted each. Registrations are done at

The eleventh edition of the Mogosoaia ClasicFest is organized by the Brâncoveneşti Palaces Cultural Center in the Gates of Bucharest and the Pro Valores Association, in partnership with Capital City Hall through ARCUB.
