As part of expanding its app catalog, Renault has developed four new partnerships with app developers to improve the customer experience on board its new OpenR Link vehicles – an easy-to-use and fully customizable infotainment interface.
In preparation for the arrival of the new Megane E-Tech Electric at all Renault dealerships in Europe, the brand has added four new apps that customers can download via OpenR Link. Users can access links to download applications as well as offers negotiated exclusively through MY Renault. Customers can then choose to download the content to display directly on the vehicle’s media console.
EASYPARK, simplified parking solutions
EasyPark enhances a unique, connected driving experience by helping drivers manage and pay parking fees without the need for a dedicated device or even a smartphone. The free app will also offer exclusive coupons and offers to users of these services.
RADIOPLAYER, Live & Recorded Radio & Podcast
With the free Radioplayer for Renault app, users will have access to hundreds of radio and online radio stations and podcasts in the European countries where Radioplayer is located. Radiplayer gives them easy access to all this content in live mode and the data associated with it. With Radioplayer, users benefit from many features such as easy and personalized listening to radio stations, viewing of current titles, or the ability to find all programs in podcasts. Other services tailored to Renault will be available soon.
SYBEL, thousands of hours of audio content
With the Sybel app, drivers and passengers will benefit from an experience entirely tailored for an enjoyable journey, while offering a wide range of audio content, bringing together thousands of hours of podcasts, fiction and documentaries, audiobooks and children’s stories. It also includes a suite of solutions specifically designed by Sybel teams for use while driving: three-hour themed playlists of preloaded content where you left off, no matter what device you’ve turned on, intelligent processor sound, personalized recommendations and a favorites list.
In addition to accessing great free audio software, customers will also get a free 6-month subscription to Sybel+, a paid offer that offers exclusive and original content.
VIVALDI, navigating while you wait
With the free Vivaldi Browser app, customers can watch, shop and browse from the comfort of their car seat, and have fun while waiting for the car to be charged, without the need for a smartphone or tablet. For added security, the browser can only be used when the vehicle is parked. With this app, users can make video calls, set up access to commonly used online apps, easily access streaming services, securely sync browser data, and more. Since Vivaldi primarily maintains user privacy, customers can be sure that they browse privately while in Renault vehicles equipped with OpenR Link, and that their data is not stored by the vehicle. When you log into your Vivaldi account, your browsing data can only be shared between other devices connected to the same account. This data is not even shared with Renault.
“We are very excited to see these applications launched on all Renault vehicles equipped with the OpenR connection, such as the new Megane E-Tech Electric and Austral Future. It is a tangible expression of our desire to offer our customers more and more services, comfort, safety and entertainment on board Renault vehicles” . Highlights Frederic Vincent, Executive Vice President – Information Systems and Digital.
The four applications will be available on the OpenR Link interface of the new Megane E-Tech electric car once it arrives at Renault’s offices in Europe. Other applications will be added to the catalog in the near future.
