14 young directors on the stage of the National Theater in Craiova


Between July 5 and 9, 2022, the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” in Craiova has become a springboard for young directing graduates from Romanian universities, along with the 4th edition of the Network Theater Talents Festival (TNT).

Shows, discussions, workshops, urban installations, concerts and watching short films are just some of the activities that will take place during Talent Networks Theater (TNT).

After two years where the epidemic situation has made it impossible to organize the festival, this marathon will bring together in this edition a selection of the best productions of Romanian directors who graduated from the college in the promotions 2020/2021/2022 (license and masters). Fourteen invited shows by alumni of Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and Targu Morey, works based on classical, contemporary or even innovative texts.

Many of them have already been taken over or produced by theater companies such as #Reactor of Creation and Experation Cluj-Napoca, Dramatic Theater “Ion D.” Suceava, Constanta State Theater or LS Polandra Municipal Theater, Bucharest.

Performances will be performed in front of Craiova’s audience, stage directors, independent producers or guest festival selectors from all over the country, as well as other artists and future colleagues.

The fourteen names featured in the fourth edition of TNT are Tudor Antofie, Răzvan Enciu, Irisz Kovacs, Petro Ionescu, Vlad Isăilă, Irina Moscu, Alin Neguțoiu, Tudor Nicorici, Bianca Oprea, Mara Oprea, Cosmin Panaite, Mihai Păcuru, and Macaزيلela. Their performances can be seen in the three halls of the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” in Craiova.

Besides the 14 performances by the directors on show, the Networks Theater Talents (TNT) program includes many activities dedicated to both artists from all fields of the performing arts and the general audience: debates (directed by Iulia Popovici), installations, and short films by film alumni (selected by them). Andrei Ross), two concerts (presented by Polina and Valeria Stoica).

Theatrical Network Talents (TNT) is organized by the National Theater “Marin Sorescu” in Craiova and the Department of Arts and Media of the University of Craiova, with the support of the partners: House of Culture “Traian Demetrescu” and UNITER.

TNT continues its partnership with the Goethe-Institut, through the workshops of the international program New Stages Southeast, where young playwrights and directors will continue to work on projects begun in Craiova last fall, under the guidance of mentors Rebekka Kricheldorf and Theodor Cristian Popescu.

For events within TNT, admission is free, within places available, based on reservations made at the ticket agency of the “Marin Sorescu” National Theatre.
