“Bla Fest is much more than a festival. It is in fact a social project that wants to promote Romania, revive the Roman village, preserve ancient crafts, and perpetuate the Roman traditions, handed down from the ancestors, to preserve and preserve the old traditional houses. And last but not least, to bring more And more and more tourists from Romania and from abroad to visit villages in the area, and why not, to invest in old houses or other small business. This is why we have set up a non-governmental organization, Băla Fest Association, in order to be able to promote and support all these The values we strongly believe in,” the organizers stated.

The features of the country festival are: stay in old traditional houses, but you can also do camping in a tent, caravan or caravan; craft workshops; medieval theater with knights and ladies for adults and children; Simple, natural and very tasty food; good music, of all kinds, for all ages; Artistic improvisation sessions in which the audience participates or yoga. The festival is kid-friendly and pet-friendly where games and competitions will whet the appetite of players. There will also be a campfire every night with songs, stories, improvisations and jokes.

International hosts, great vibes

The hosts of this project are Georgiana Teers (hairdresser for celebrities such as Kylie Minogue, Pussycat Dolls, Bono, etc., who are constantly present at festivals such as Cannes) and Steve Teers (documentary editor for British television, member of the jury from various festivals, screenwriter, He taught himself to play any musical instrument.

On a serendipitous visit to the area, they found out that the former Georgia grandmother’s home was for sale, so they bought it right away. Later they took two more houses, kept them as they were, providing them only with everything necessary: running water, central heating, bathroom, Internet, without giving up the traditional old furniture, beams or wooden floor. Later, two other families from Great Britain bought a house and thus “La Poiata Retreat” was born, a place where Romanian traditions and crafts unite with Romanian or foreign tourists who come to discover the area or take part in various workshops.

“Most of the time, we were told that we managed to create that atmosphere at Băla Fest, when families would take their grandchildren to their grandparents back in the country during the summer holidays and enjoy them all day long, eat well and spend time with relatives and friends. No one should take Our word is for it, but they must come to Băla Fest 2022 and be convinced,” added the event organizers.
