University Square – ULBS Sports Complex in elimbăr. Investing 70 million euros for theatre, laboratories and gymnasiums

The leadership of the University of “Lucian Plaga” in Sibiu, Friday, presented a project worth more than 70 million euros, the University Square – the ULBS Sports Complex, which will be financed by the Romanian government through the National Investment Corporation. The project was started by ULBS 10 years ago and will be implemented after cooperation with the Academy of Land Forces “Nicolae Bălcescu” Sibiu and local authorities.

According to the feasibility study, the University Square – Sports Complex of ULBS will have a built-up area of ​​15,396.60 m² (over a total area of ​​31,011 m²), with an S + P + 2E elevation system. The complex is a multifunctional sports space with a capacity of 5016 seats, with the purpose of carrying out educational, sports, scientific, cultural, etc. activities.

The structure designed for the sports complex covers both indoor and outdoor spaces, with multiple destinations: indoor spaces, and parking spaces with a capacity of 502 places, of which 31 are for people with disabilities; Basement / semi-basement technical area (CT, after conversion, 4 ALA warehouses for 600 people, intangible water reserve).

The arena will have an amphitheater with a capacity of 125 seats; Three lecture halls with a capacity of 70 seats/room; Six seminar rooms with a capacity of 30 seats/room; Six laboratory rooms with a capacity of 30 seats/room; 25-seat professor’s room – 6 30-seat professor’s desks/desk; gymnasium with dimensions of 45 x 30 m; fitness room – bodybuilding 400 sq.m.; Gymnasium and combat sports hall of 300 square meters; Table tennis / badminton court with an area of ​​​​400 square meters; Training room to prepare the game (a whole building separate from the sports complex).

As for the outdoor spaces, it will be a multi-purpose pitch of 90 x 50 m (football); two tennis courts 40 x 20 m; Multifunctional basketball and volleyball court with a size of 35 x 20 m; Handball court 45 x 25 m; 400m athletics track.

There will be a parking lot outside: TV vans, ISU car zone, gendarmerie cars, sports coaches.

The playing surfaces are designed according to the standards approved by the specialized sports federations.
