There is certainly no perfect education system. School plays (or should) a key role in promoting healthy habits and behaviours. No parent wants a robot child. Who keeps diligently. And no doubt. Who can calculate without error or who can reproduce a history lesson word for word with years of rule, kings, emperors… We all want mentally healthy children. Get ready for life as it is. Casual, communicative, and collaborative adult future. Active and creative. Able to make constructive decisions. With clearly defined goals.
No, the teacher is not a god that you are not allowed to bother with questions. or to “distract” him from the way he has suggested, depending on the method, of managing his watch.
We, in our culture, as a nation, have applied the idea that the student, in the bank, must be obedient, submissive, and good. Well, this generation is thirsty for knowledge. It’s hard to succumb, hard to conform. Only listen to the “lady” if she is sympathetic to his needs. Unless they educate him in humility and obedience. Because today’s student knows how to riot. He does it his way. They have milestones.
Clearly, from minister to teacher, the desire is the formation of healthy adults. Even the leaders. Unfortunately, the system often fails.
We raise people without self-confidence. Small robots who are good at the theory but have no idea how to apply it. Exercise their stalks. They are interested in grades and mastery of learning, but they don’t know how to argue. For them, it does not matter what they think, it is important how much they save. Such a system that relies on “storing” as much information as possible is confusing. Fascinating. Meaningless information in a child’s head. Because that’s what the school asks of him. This is what the teacher wants. The teacher, not the teacher.
This real teacher doesn’t want functional illiterates. The teacher is proud of the child who got the seventh or eighth grade in the catalog. This is not where the intelligence assessment lies. The teacher sees in children not only amorphous masses of graduates who pass useless exams, without their own thought or initiative.
But in our school, the so-called failure has nothing to do with it. You can’t be a seventh or eighth grader and want too much. Because the school wants you so much that the community can appreciate you. capitalization how? Perfection has many harmful effects. A 10-year-old’s fear of failure is so great that it is crippling. Fear means tension. Emotional intelligence is suppressed by the rational.
The Romanian child is ‘boring’. Whole texts, often do not pass through the thought filter. Soon he forgets what he had stored meaninglessly. A kind of subversion of the tender mind, beautifully moldable if you, as a teacher, know how to give it form and meaning.
If he does not, the student knows his future is uncertain. At least that’s what the bank thinks. He cannot take a small note because fear arises. Fear of getting a low mark, not passing the class, not taking exams, not finding a place in life, fear of ending up a loser.
Because the school teaches him that he must be a complete human specimen. Error charged. When breeding like a “parrot”, he must do it flawlessly. Teach-Save-Play-Forget. It is basically a lesson in submission and commitment to perfection.
However, children, regardless of age, must be “nourished” with character, self-confidence, hope and the right to be themselves without restrictions. Otherwise, the door opens to frustration and anxiety.
There are those kids who encouraged them to please society, but not themselves. Kids who get to the point where they no longer perceive the idea that life has ups and downs, not just ups and downs. And that every step is a lesson to learn from. It is good to have dissenting opinions. That they don’t have to copy like robots on the board, without asking themselves questions. It’s okay to question the higher authority of a teacher, as long as they do it decently and in a logical way. They don’t make drama, because perfection slipped through their fingers. They are disappointed. system, school, some teachers. how it was formed. With the fear of being tried. With the fear of not being satisfied with themselves. Perfectionism toxicity. In a world where, from a young age, children should rather be encouraged to feel that a person’s life is not without faults, flaws or defects.

I conclude like this. In the last PISA test in 2018, 44% of Romanian students were found to be functionally illiterate. According to the same report, only 1% of students are proficient in reading. Another test, with a major in Science and Exact Materials, showed last year that 22% of 8th graders were functionally illiterate in mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology, and Romania ranked last in the European Union in this regard. If we also add to these percentages the numbers of school dropouts, the overall picture does not look good at all. We have an education system where the cool kids get in, but who can escape. Someone focused on mechanical memorization, and it wasn’t helpful at all for such an “open-minded” generation. Olympians, performers and children who go to study “abroad”, because their entire group is appreciated, not just their ability to “read”.
